Fund-Nathi Foundation is a non-profit organization that inspires South African rural communities and schools to increase their literacy skills. This is done by engaging all societal stakeholders such as mobilize business, unions, government, communities and individuals in support of the reading of our children. . 

 

 

VISION:

The Fund-Nathi Foundation envisions a South Africa where children from rural communities have the skills they need to live a fully engaged life.

MISSION:

Our approach to raising literacy levels starts at a community level with Donate -a-Book through the Funda-Nathi Foundation initiative.  Appropriate quality books are gifted to organisations operating in remote communities. Apart from the historical, health, social, and educational disadvantage issues, many rural schools and communities don’t have many, if any, books. 

 

To encourage rural schools and community members to read for pleasure and information.

 

To provide communities with opportunities to engage in and communicate about reading.

 

To establish and promote library use in rural schools.

 

To help Improve rural school library collections.

 

To support rural school librarians.
